CFWriterz is delighted to announce our call for submissions for the Collins Elesiro Literary Prize & June 2020 Magazine.

Unlike our previously themed contests, this edition the contest comes without a theme. We still insist on quality writing and would be opening our platforms to the best of African stories. The magazine is not under any obligation to accept an entry or to announce winners. As much as we try to contact all entrants, only selected winners can be assured of feedback.

Failure to adhere to this instruction will lead to disqualification. We do not particularly restrict content or style, we only ask that you bring to fore, the best of your craft. Our writing platform focuses on all things African. Hence we need entries that focus on relevant African Issues: politics, travel, migration, leadership, race, gender balance, and typically issues or stories that will lead conversations in the African media.

Entries are welcome in the following categories:

  1. Poetry.
  2. Fiction.
  3. Essays and think-pieces.

Africa is a never-ending yarn of stories; all we seek is the most colorful of all your knitted pieces. We want stories that come alive in the heart of our readers. We want stories that spark connections, stories we can always return to because each reading is a journey too short, and sweet, to be travelled in one lifetime.

Entrants may submit up to 1 previously unpublished poem, and up to 3,000 words for fiction and non-fiction.

Simultaneous submissions are accepted. However, writers must notify us if their work is accepted elsewhere.

Deadline for Submissions: 30th April, 2020.

The decisions of judges are final and cfwriterz retains the right to accept or reject entries.

To submit your entry use the form on our MAGAZINE SUBMISSIONS PAGE. We do not accept submissions any other way.
