We learnt to take
refuge in the tales
spoken to us by
our father’s fathers.

We take comfort
in what time offers
our hungry bodies,
with our hands as plates.

We learn to walk;
a blind mind without
direction, clearly
shutting our imagination
from what life offers.

We
must learn to accept
our fathers’ fathers ways.
through the wrong path,
we would eventually kiss
home.
