It starts with something very close to perfection then graduates to absurdities and then finally, separation. In every form of creation, opposite sides are naturally occurring and these brought about the three categories embedded in the theme PARTING ROSES.
1) Love or Hate
2) Nature: elements in conflict or conjunction
3) Abstract: Reality against Imagination.Quick View -
₦3,500.00Add to basketPoetry, in many instances, resists the desire to be confined to a single definition. Ask a magazine editor, a poet, and a critic what poetry is, and their responses will differ—despite their frequent intimacy with the form. One might argue that a poem is meant to be experienced, not defined. Yet often, the reader encountering a work of poetry seeks both experience and comprehension. They don’t just want to feel the poem; they want to understand it—to walk away satisfied with that experience because they “have a rational understanding of that experience,” as Yvor Winters put it.

The collection is a wakeup call to affected and non-affected Nigerians as they may just wake up one morning and find their skin ripped off from their body. It’s also an eye opener on how far the rate of massacres and bombings has immensely increased in Nigeria from late 1960s till date with concrete records of places, time and dates where these happened with deep metaphors describing the scenes, and how victims were victimized.
A rose for my country is a collection of poems every Nigerian should lay hands on, so as not to be left in the dark, waiting for light, sometimes we need to fit in God’s shoes to create them.
